The Party

That morning, woke up and arranged the furniture. Ye la, to accomodate 30 over kids you need a big space. Lucky for us we have the 2nd living room. While I was doing that, Hubby was in the kitchen making his spaghetti sauce. All the other finger food Bibik will rebus / goreng later. All that's left to be done is to pick up the balloons.

By about 2pm, everything was in place. But Jannah has not had her morning sleep yet. Ye la, dah bangun pon at 1030 mana nya nak tido. Plus somehow she got really excited seeing all the balloons and play things. And because we moved the furnitures around, the house had more running space for her.

Ija was the first to arrive, bringing the chocs ordered from CreateMyOwnGift. And after 330pm baru la guests start to arrive. By then, the birthday girl dah start cranky because tak tido lagi. So she soon feel asleep on my shoulders. Brought her upstairs to let her sleep for awhile.

Everything went smoothly, minor hiccups when food tak cukup and had to buy more nuggets and hot dogs. Heheh.. Camne tah boleh under budget kali ni.

The bubble time was a big hit as usual. This time we made it easier coz Hubby had earlier insisted we bought the gazillion bubble thingy. And having the slide made it fun too this time. But somehow all the rough and tumble by the kids have taken a toll on the ball pool. We still haven't figured out what to do with it now.

Cake cutting was last and then it was time for everyone to go home.

Thanks to everyone who came. Thank you for all the lovely presents. Of course Aliah is the one more excited about the presents, Jannah's happy playing with the boxes and wrappers. Haha! But I think this by far is the best one, given by WanNor.

The Pre-Birthday Party

The party itself was a job well done I think. But the run up to it had me hyper ventilate a bit. Haha!

I had planned out what needs doing about a month ago already. So, everything went according to plan. The guestlists, the invites, the cakes, the menu, the party packs, the balloons etc..

Thursday night the plan was for me to siapkan all the party packs. All 50 of them. But, I had a bad headache and when I put Jannah to sleep I couldn't for the life of me wake myself up after. The reason it had to be done on Thursday was because we had to leave for Kuantan Friday afternoon for Hubby's cousin's wedding on Saturday. Mind you, this was a last minute decision so that's why all the rush. Called Ija of CreateMyOwnGift to tell her I couldn't pick up the chocolates after work and nasib baik being the nice friend that she is, Ija was willing to come a bit earlier to the party. Thanks Ija!

We arrived in Kuantan around 9ish, terus singgah the new East Coast Mall. Semata kerana nak beli towel. Oh, sangat posh itu mall ok. And to think that it is only a 10 minute walk from the kampung house. Sangat heaven! Anyway, because I know I do not have much time left, I brought back some of the stuff for the baby party packs. So malam tu gigih sampai pukul 3 pagi dok buat the party pack. Inilah hasilnya..










Saturday morning, we woke up at 10. Haha. Buruk betul perangai, balik kampung sekali sekala. Kol 10 pagi baru nak bangun. But it was bliss I tell ya, to not have to wake up coz of the kids. Oh, lupa pulak nak cerita kitorang balik kampung tu sans princesses. Kalau bawak diorang balik, hadoi penat la. Anyway, that pagi I was busy helping Mak siapkan the hantaran for De. Kat sana, diorang tak bawak hantaran tu sekali masa nikah.. but they bring it masa datang for the reception. So, that's why la all the chocolates and buah tak siap lagi.

We left for the nikah at 2pm. And how we thought it was going to be a quick in and out. How wrong we were! The kadi decided to bercerita panjang lebar about everything. And he went into detail of everything.. even the rukun nikah! Orang semua dah kebas 3-4 kali dah. Pukul 4 baru habes aqad. Kitorang tak tunggu makan pun, terus gerak balik. Coz I had another wedding to attend to that night.

Arrived in PJ, ngam2 before Maghrib. Sempat nyanyi birthday song for Jannah, which she responded with a toothy grin before going back to watching TV. That's how cool that little girl is. Dia sikit pon tak heran. Kalau kakak dia, nampak je Mommy or Papa dah balik, melekat dah. And start la her whiny mode.

That night we went for Lyna's wedding in KGPA. Lyna is an old friend, back in primary days. People used to say we were twins because we were forever together and also because our names was somewhat similar. And it was nice to see some familiar faces from back then.

So, we only arrived back in Bangi at 12 midnight. And baru la start nak kemas rumah. Nasib baikla ada extra pair of hands in the form of Bibik. And baru la malam tu nak siapkan the rest of the party packs. And I slept at 3 again. Woh. Mmg weng tak hengat.

The Birthday Party

It was fun. It was tiring. I hope everyone had a great time. Told Hubby that would be the last big bash I would do. Lepas ni takmo dah. He just looked at me in disbelief. Haha!

Happy Birthday Jannah!

She's 1! She's a toddler! Ah.. How time flies.

Amazingly, she's not as comot anymore. Haha! And she smiles more often too now. And totally adores her Kakak.

She loves to spend time alone playing with whatever she can get her hands on. Getting her to sleep is sooo difficult now, even when she is sleepy and can't seem to open her eyes.

Based on her milestones from here :

* imitates others activities : she does this a lot now. she knows that a comb is for combing hair, she takes her Kakak's panties and tries to wear it (earlier, she put it on her head!), knows the drumsticks are for playing the drums.

* indicates wants with gesture : she's quite vocal with what she wants. normally she'll drag us to whatever it is she wants while babbling non stop.

* walks alone : she basically can run now!

* says Mama and Dada : she still hasn't said this yet, probably because no one teaches her to say this. But she's got a few words up her sleeve already. I guess we'll just have to wait for those 2 elusive words still.

*scribbles with crayon : hmm.. have not tried giving her a crayon - yet - because she still is in that everything goes into the mouth phase.

*insist on eating on her own : finger food semua nak pegang sendiri, sila jangan cuba nak suap. Dia akan mengamuk.

* holds out arm or leg when dressing her : this is actually a 13 month milestone, but she's already doing this partly. especially when she knows we are going out and she sees her shoes. immediately she will hold out her feet. hehehe :D

she can show affection already. on cue, she'll put her head on my shoulder when asked to "Sayang Mommy" or she will give me a kiss on my lips when asked to "Kiss Mommy".

she also likes to play with balls. her most favourite are the ones from the ball pool. she'll take all of it out and after that put it back in again. bigger balls she likes too. and she'd normally have fun throwing them and catching after them all by herself.

and her love for TV is at par with her Kakak. Any theme song from any show on PHD she already knows and will dance to it. Tapi dia tunggu theme song je la. She only watches Elmo and Danny&Daddy.

compared to her Kakak, she's much more independent. She's less clingy too. And she's more a Mommy's girl as compared to Aliah being Daddy's girl.

Jannah dear, Happy 1st Birthday sweetie. Mommy and Papa prays that you grow up to be anak yg solehah. We love you always!
