Of Unpost Postings

I had the post all ready in my head. About how 5 years of marriage has changed me. How my aspirations and hopes are all now entwined and revolves around a loving husband and 2 wonderful daughters. How I wish for more years, more happiness, more love with them. And I would top it with the pictures of the tree we planted to mark the day and also about our day away from home.

Alas, plans always have a way to make themselves haywire. Always.

I took the day of Friday, just so. The plan was to go to the nursery (the one that sells flowers not care for children :P) and pick out the tree we'd want to plant. But a matter arise at work (don't they always!) and I had to attend a *toot* meeting that just did not help to improve my day.

And then, before we left I had 2nd3rd4th thoughts about leaving the kids behind (read : guilt). We did leave albeit later, after I've managed to calm myself down. It helped that Anik saw my guilt, and said I need not worry as the kids would be just fine. (we found out later, Jannah slept at 130.. *sigh*)

It's just one of those things you know you need to do. Get away, and veg. Haha!

We arrived at Im.pi.a.na KLCC around 4ish, and a lucky thing too cause we still had to wait for our room. Because they made us wait, we were given a late check out option when we leave. I think that was a good gesture. Anyway, we were in a different floor this year, but the room was similar. Except this one had a fruit tray waiting for us and a white rose in the shower (which I forgot to bring home!!).

Cause we were on a tight schedule, Hubby coaxed me into getting my spa immediately when all I wanted to do was veg out. But spa we did. And it was a good choice too. It was definitely what I needed, to be pampered. *Bliss*

We figured we'd better use up on the vouchers we got from O.ri.ent Re.wards and that was why we decided to try their buffet. And OMG it was out of this world! S.E.D.A.P! Sangat amat. And because of the voucher, we only had to pay RM88 for 2 people. Cheap, considering the amount of good food we ate. Cheap, considering the quality of the food too. We had to take a looooonng walk to Pa.vi.lion just to get all that food down. Haha.

In the end, we didn't even go to the nursery. Tsk. And there's not tree yet. Tsk.

But it was still a great way to start the 5th year of our marriage.

Kepenatan

Saya kepenatan minggu ini.

Bukan saya yang pindah, tapi saya penat jua.

Tinggal 2 minggu saja lagi untuk mengimbau kenangan 31 tahun di Jalan SS 1/24. Untuk mengimbau peristiwa jatuh pokok. Untuk mengenang keseronokan memerhati bunga api dari atas bumbung setiap tahun baru. Untuk menyimpan snapshot memori setiap bilik di banglo itu.

Saya sedih.

Tapi rumah ayah bonda yang baru sangat cantik. Tak sabar pula untuk mencipta memori baru disana.

Two Things

Two things that made me proud, made me laugh and made me smile the past week.

One : Aliah is book smart and is on the way to becoming a book reader! She's already in Book 2 of Iqra', she's also already mastering the 1a book from the Ladybird series (yeah, the Peter n Jane one) and she's also started reading the e-Xra book. (BTW, I find that method extremely easy and good) What's most interesting is, I don't have to read with her all the time. Sometimes, she'll just take the book and read it by herself. So yeah, extremely proud and made me smile.

Two : Jannah is street smart and she really does parrot your words and movements. The other day, after so many times of hearing and seeing me repeat it.. she actually pulled off one on me. It was bed time and she was refusing to go to bed, as usual. Earlier she had already knocked down her own milk bottle and she saw that Aliah's botol was still standing so she knocked it down too. Immediately after, she knelt down and picked the bottles back up while muttering Lailahaillallah Muhammadurrasullulah albeit in her own babyish slang. But you could still hear it and figure it out. Haa... terduduk sekejap Mommy dia ni. Hahaha.. That made me laugh and somehow made me proud too.

Ini Bukan Fiction

He's been away for 2 days now.

But as one can tell, absence always make the heart grow fonder.

I am a wreck when he's not around.
Always.

Yes, I hold the fort. I put on a face. I go on as though everything is alright.

But it's not.

I want him back - now! Please?

*sigh*

Pray tell, how would I survive him being away for 2 weeks?

Of Belated Issues

Tsk.

Can't even think how to start. I've scrapped and deleted so many versions now.

Had an overdose of retail therapy the last couple of weeks. (Thank you Company for the bonus!) The first thing I bought was of course for the kids. Aliah got one of these from her TokWan for her birthday, so I bought another cartridge for her to play with. I've got to say, it is quite fun to play with. Even I get hooked on the games myself. Haha! Boleh lagi la kalau once a month get a new cartridge to play with - provided that the other games dah khatam lah kan. And of course, if Aliah gets something tak kan Jannah tak dapat apa2. Dahla my guilt (or is it the shopper in me? - hehe) keeps telling me we don't buy / give J enough things because basically either A already has it or she can have Aliah's. So, this is what I bought for Jannah. And she sooo loves it! She likes the spinning lighted blades. Siap ada lagu bagai. Dah la Pooh mmg her favourite. I'd definitely say it was a good buy. It was on discount at Toys.R.Us, so save lah sikit.

Before that, I already received a gift from Hubby dearest. Sangat chenta ok. It wasn't a planned buy. We were just looking coz F0ssil had some on discount at Gardens. Skali Hubby tanya "Nak ke?". Tak pandai (read : b.o.d.o.h) la kalau kata tak nak kan? Hahaha. Pucuk dicita ulam mendatang katanya. And because of the new watch, I rotate all my watches more often now. Takde la hari2 asyek nak pakai Baby.G ni je. (which was also a birthday gift from Hubby - then boyfriend almost 6 years ago). And to top it up, I bought myself a new sling bag. So there, I am retail therapy-ied for the next month or so. Haha!

The 4 day break was spent in PJ helping Mama and Papa box and tag their stuff. Also seeing me throw out a WHOLE LOT of JUNK from my own boxes, some of which consists of things from 25 years ago! I've now got 2 more boxes under my own staircase from the things we cleared out in PJ.

Anyway, what amazed me the most is ALL the cards and letters I received from my BFFs. And boy there were a lot of them! I just never realised it. The birthday cards, the good luck cards, the just because cards. And the letters, all hand written with postage. Those were the days.. Now I'd be happy with a birthday card from my insurance provider. Tsk.. Hence today, I'd like to say my thanks to Caza, Ogy, Ina, Een, Niko and Kay for all the emotional support all these years.

Next week.. another round of pindah randah.

Another Dilemma

I have another post waiting to be finished and put up, but I figured this is more pressing.

My niece (who is not yet 6) and nephew (who just turned 3 a couple of months ago and does not talk much) are allowed to roam the streets of the neighborhood. By themselves. Without adult supervision. Of course they don't really go that far, they walk to the park or they come over to our house. (My brother's house is on the next row - about 100m away from my house) But still. I am not comfortable about this. My brother and SIL knows but they seem to think it's ok.

Is it?

Or am I just being paranoid?
