Not to be Outdone

Jannah of all days, today decided she wanted to show off her skills by eloquently reading of her alphabets from a book.

More precisely on a page that was showing the mirror image of the letters. It was the first page of her Iqra' book and it said "Welcome to Book 1", but she was reciting the letters from the second page where those lettering would look like a mirror image. And she got 95% correct too. Only mistook the W for an M and the C for a J.

Made my jaw drop I tell you.

She has always managed to amaze me, and today she did it yet again.

But still, attention span of a fish. *sigh*

First Report Card Day

Today, we picked up Aliah's first term report card.

And.. I was the one nervous. Hahaha.

But Alhamdulillah, she did amazingly well. Perfect score for 5 out of 6 exams. And a 98 for the other one.

Tapi Mommy yg kiasu ini, terus concern apa mende yg dia salah jawab satu tu.. bole tak? Bukan reti nak be proud of / bersyukur that she got great results. Hampeh kan?

I am not suprised with her results, I know she can answer / do all the questions even though she has never gone to school before. Her teachers were suprised that this was her first year at school. She's more advanced then some of the other kids who have been going to school for 2 years.

Having said that, the teachers do have some concern. Aliah does not like to do writing or colouring. And that does not suprise me as she refuse to do the same at home also. Bole bergaduh la dengan dia kalau nak suruh dia buat. Always her excuse would be "tomorrowlah Mommy". So, what is a Mommy to do? Any advice?

One thing I like about Sri.Ayesha is the fact that they are also very concern about the "Practical Life" as they put it. She has tests / exercises on things like how to conduct yourself in class, motor skills such as pouring, transferring, threading, cutting and they even have introduction to sewing! There are also self care exercises, care for the environment, social skills, etc. So far, Aliah seems to be progressing too in those areas. On the way to becoming a Khalifah, insyaAllah.

Kakak, when you are old enough to read this do know that Mommy and Papa are always proud of you. And we're always praying for the best for you. May you grow up to become a good Muslim, insyaAllah.

Day Out :: Butterfly Park

We went there 2 weeks ago, but procrastinate punya pasal langsung tak update.

Fee : RM8 for adults, and RM4 for kids. If you bring your camera, it is RM1 each camera.

Parking : Relatively easy as not many people go there, unlike the Bird Park where there were so many people.

The plan was to tire the kids out, so that Papa can watch the F1 in peace later. Haha. It worked though. Mommy wanted to test her Ni.kon and tried out some settings. So all in all, everyone was a happy camper.

The race however was a boring one I have to say.

Anyway, the park has lost its attraction if you ask me. I remember when we went there about 15 yrs ago, there were so so so many beautiful butterflies and they were jinak (for lack of a better word). But now.. oh, you could still see them but nak dapat pegang ke memang mintak maap la. And not many species available.

Still, if you have little kids who love the outdoor (like Jannah) and loves her animals and insects and bugs (like Jannah), do go. And if you have little kids who whine because they have to walk a lot (like Aliah), this is a good place too as it's not too big but enough to tire them out just right. ;)

Work in Progress Milestone

Update : It was obviously not a success. Haha. But, I think she's getting the idea. Just need to try it out again with her. Anyhow, I am not worried. She's not 3 yet. And my target would be when she is 3, insyaAllah.

Today marks Jannah's first attempt at going diaper-less.

It wasn't planned, just out of whim I said to her.

"Adik dah big girl, harini tak payah pakai pampers OK?"

"OK Mommy"

She said NO to every piece of undies I showed her bar one.

Aliah called at 1 to report, that her adik had already done the big job on the sofa.

Hahaha!

She is still refusing pampers though. I take that as a good sign. :D

SiComel Jannah

Managed to tie her hair ala pokok kelapa today, and she looked so comel. My independent 33 month old sudah besar lah. Most days, she can do just about everything she sets her mind to by herself. Other days, she whines like a baby and get Mommy / Papa / Anik / Kakak to do it for her.

Right after taking her pictures, she claimed "My turn.. my turn" and wanted to take pictures with my D5000. And bila Mommy refuse to hand over the camera she said "Hey, that's my camera." My camera?! You think I'm going to hand it over to you so easily. Mommy pun tunggu bertahun baru dapat dik..
