Turning 34

was in fact a low key affair.

stayed home. slept in. vegged-out. kids made me a homemade handprint card. and told me to bake a cake. for MY OWN birthday. pfftt.

Had iftaar with The CHIs, and had fun. It was fun to watch the 2nd generation getting along :)

J had a meltdown when they brought out my cake, an RV cake - yum! (but nothings beats Kak Lin Mamachak's cakes!).. Mate, I want a picture of my cake can?

Hubby gave me 2 gifts prior to the birthday itself. Loving it! So, not exactly expecting anything else. But, my BabyG which I've been using for the last 8 years - the first ever gift from Hubby-then-Boyfriend appropriately died a day before my birthday (hint, hint!)

Felt a lot of love from over 200 wishes, smses, messages, wall posts - which is of course thanks to FB.. :D

I pray that I will be a better Muslimah, a better wife, a better Mummy and all round better person as I get older.. Amin.


[edited :: how is it that ONLY after 34 birthdays do I find out that I celebrate my birthday on the same day as International Lefthanders Day. Nice! Seeing that I am a lefty myself :) ]

First Ten

Time flies.. In fact today is already the 12th day of Ramadhan.

Aliah has been doing well, getting used to the routine. She wakes up relatively easy though there are days when she would be a bit cembs.. And has so far has not puasa penuh for only 2 days. But of course, through out the day you would hear the occasional "Mommy, I'm hungry" and of course "Adik, jgn la makan depan Kakak!".

I've been doing pretty OK too, Alhamdulillah. I have not skipped a day yet. But I still am taking it a day at a time, always looking out for that old nemesis Mr Gastric :P.. I do hope he doesn't make an appearance this time. I am hoping that as long as I am waking up for sahur and have a decent iftaar and that I don't throw up at any time during the day I would be fine.

We are pretty much set for Eid too, as there is not much to do this time seeing that Mama n Papa & Mak are all away for Umrah. Having said that, I would be doing the cooking this time (with Bibik's help of course). And that in itself will definitely be a challenge. I am going to try make rendang ayam, sambal paru n kuah kacang. We'll see how it goes. :)

Accesorizing

You know your girls are all grown up when they decide they want to go to the shopping mall to actually shop! And they pick their own stuff and you have a hard time telling them "No, you do not need another tutu" or "No, fairy wings are not for Raya".

And that they would insist on that retro sunnies or even pink of everything.

Much to Papa's amazement, that he left us girls to our own devices for a mere 20 minutes to come back and see new shoes, sunglasses, headbands and even a fairy wand (!) all packed and paid for.

I am so going to love our shopping trips ;)

Umrah

Mama and Papa left a couple of days before puasa and will only be coming back on the 4th day of Eid.



Mak left on the 1st of Ramadhan and would only be coming back on 1st of Syawal.

Semoga mereka diberikan kesihatan dan kekuatan dan dapat menjalani ibadah dengan sempurna. Amin.

4 days into Ramadhan

and everyone at home is sick!

the weather, lack of fluids is probably getting to us. Not that Jannah is fasting. Haha! But she is down with fever now. Kesian sangat budak yang selalu ceria tu lembik je.

Alhamdulillah I have been able to fast, so far. Hopefully will still be able to do so for the coming 25 days insyaAllah. I am taking it one day at a time..

I am also now in Week 20! Oh man.. suddenly it feels as though time moves on too fast. 

Aliah has been doing good so far too. Walaupun banyak la whining towards the last hour tuh, but she's gotten through. 1st day je kantoi. Tengok mood makan dia masa iftaar, mmg senyum je la. She will line up all the things she wants to eat in front of her and will proceed to eat it all one by one. Pastu terbontang. Haha!

I pray that our Ramadhan will be smooth sailing till the end. Amin!
