Dilemma

I am to start work this Monday, but after being home for the last 2 months and being with the kids I am very reluctant to do so.

It has not helped that we have been having problems with our maid of late. Banyak lemak as we Malays put it. I am forever memang bersabar je lah dengan dia.

J is always at odds with her. I put it down to communication failure. And to a point different approach from how we handle the kids. Makes it difficult for me to leave her with the kids.

And now you add Amir to the equation. Lagi lah parah. Left her for half a day with them pun she was already complaining left right center. Walhal, I left her at home with Amir about 11ish, J comes back from school around 1230 and Aliah only gets back around 530ish.

I want to be there for Aliah when she has questions. I want to be there for Jannah in developing her to be her own self. I want to be there for Amir and watch him grow.

In all honesty, I am seriously contemplating being a SAHM. InsyaAllah if it is the best route, I will.

MPC FD 2012

It was a fun-filled sunburnt weekend.

Most importanty, the kids had fun.

Second most importantly, good news from the boss.

Alhamdulillah for all the good things we get to enjoy for the last 6 years. And hopefully more for the years to come, insyaAllah.
And our luck continues, Alhamdulillah ;)

Second Child Syndrome

In between managing Amir's erratic schedule and Kakak's new routine, Jannah seems to have been "forgotten". Not something you do intentionally, but it happens.

Typically being Jannah, she lashes out in the way she knows best - throwing tantrums. Not the best way to gain attention but hey, it works. It gets Mommy to pay attention to me (I would assume this is going in her head).

I have to say, my guilt trip feeling with her is highest. I don't spend as much time as I used to with Kakak for a one-on-one session. It doesn't help that she has an attention span of a fish. And cannot be coaxed into doing something if she doesn't want to. Which almost always has me at wits ends on trying to figure her out.

Being a second child myself you'd think I'd be better off handling her - pffttt.

I need to be a better Mom for her. And hopefully I will be able to figure out what makes her tick, earlier rather than later too at that - insyaAllah.

Day 35

Plastibell is one of the types of circumcission available. And it is mostly done on newborns.

Honestly before this, I have never heard about it. I've heard of smartklamps and laser procedure but never of plastibell. So a lot of googling later, I was educated. And nauseated. And light headed. I tell you these websites should come with a "warning : disturbing images ahead" sign or something! Haha.

So, last Tuesday as he reached 35 days old, Amir had his bersunat done. Have to say both Mommy and Papa were apprehensive. Lemah lemah lutut jugak la ni. I didn't watch the procedure. Neither did Hubby. (in my defense, I was pacifying Amir who was crying his lungs out) J did watch though. And kept giving on cue responses (read horrifying shock and whimpers) as the surgeon reached for his tools.

It went well, the plastibell thing is still attached and should come off on its own (similar to the umbilical cord) after 7 days.

I shall not put up any pictures or give you any link as it is not for the faint hearted. Search and click at your own risk.

..another milestone checked..

[updated :: the ring thing has detached itself on the 3rd day and everything looks clean and neat - alhamdulillah]
